N-Acetylcysteine
N-Acetylcysteine, (NAC), is a precursor to cysteine, an amino acid that is a major component of glutathione, the body’s principal antioxidant. Glutathione is essential for detoxification of free radical toxins and protection against oxidative stress and damage. NAC, itself can alter the structure of mucous, making it less thick and sticky and has anti-inflammatory properties.
